Boca de Tomatlan is an authentic Mexican fishing village, 20 mins. south  from downtown Vallarta. It's privileged location offers 3 of natures true gems: a mountainside, a river and an ocean. Boca's beach is long and pearly colored, with a powdery texture that makes you want to sink your feet in it;  and surely the calmest waters anywhere in Vallarta. Every morning, with the sunrise, you get to enjoy the show displayed by fisherman arriving... nets filled with the seasonal catch, be it Mahi Mahi, grouper, tuna or lobster. This wonderful cove is home to many birds, among them the Military Green Macaws, wild parrots, boobie birds, pelicans ,etc; of which there are high probabilities of being able to admire upclose .

On Boca de Tomatlan's beach, you will find many typical palapa restaurants, specializing on seafood.  The all time favorite dish: Pescado Sarandeado (specially seasoned fish). Most of these restaurants are run by it's owner and family, giving you the feel of good homemade meals. And allow me to mention that you will find here the freshest fish anywhere, straight out of the fisherman's nets.
